Good selection. Nice to find a bagel place that offers deli items, but the tuna left much to be desired. Also, it's 2018 and they don't accept credit cards. Bagels fall short of their long island prices.

The very best bagels in Rochester! The people are friendly, the pastrami is great. In addition, the owners are very community minded and charitable. There is just no reason not to shop at Brownstein's. I wish it were bigger with seating and a full restaurant.

There bagels are amazing and flavorful! I stopped going to bruggers and that bagel land or whatever thats called near them in the plaza down the street next to panara.

The extra ingredient in their Homemade Chicken Soup, is Love! My granddaughter's doctor recommended Chicken Soup for her cold. Brownsteins' was REALLY homemade, full of everything good. They gave her 2 pks. of oyster crackers and a cookie. She ate every bite! Thanks

Rochesterians have a variety of opinions on who has the best bagels in town. I've visited all the bakeries countless times, and stand firmly and proudly in the Brownstein's camp. They focus on the standard lineup of classic bagel flavors—you won't find any jalapeño cheddar or french toast meshugas here—and boil and bake them to absolute perfection. Their salt bagels, egg bagels, and rye bagels are particular highlights. Wherever they get their lox from, it's to die for, and they make sure to pat it dry so that it doesn't slip out of your sandwich—a subtle but much appreciated technique. Overall, this is an unfussy and authentic spot well worth your business. The one downside, (but not, in my opinion, a dealbreaker) is that they only accept cash.

I miss Brownstein's Deli. Every weekend I went for a Pastrami Sandwich on a Biali. Out of this world. I will have to make my way back to Rochester someday just to pick one up.

Amazingly authentic, delicious and fresh bagels. Wide variety of choices and friendly and helpful staff to assist you. Many more food items to choose from.

Arguably some of the best bagels in Rochester. If you like lox and cream cheese sandwiches with all of the works then this is definitely the place to go, and for everything else they carry, which is of the finest quality.

When I discovered that my favorite Rochester deli had been replaced with a Subway (years ago) I found Brownstein's on Google. Nice little shop that reminded me of deli's in Queens. Great people and the sandwich, on homemade Jewish seeded rye bread, was awesome! Very generous with the meat and unique in that they are kosher and won't put cheese on the meat... but they will give you cheese and you can put in on yourself if you're a gentile. Definitely try one of the fantastic oatmeal raisin cookies too... And the bagels... OMG! They are my favorite deli... Like a NYC deli but cleaner. Forget about the big chains and support the little guy... You will be glad you did!

The bagels SLAP. Also the prices are super super fair! I love the employees, too, they are always helpful and friendly no matter how early in the morning. The bagels are really good no cap they taste homemade and have a delicious flavour. I would eat them every day for every meal if I could!

Never ever been there because of their hours cater to lunch crowd only.. closes at 1pm, 2pm... Who gets out of work at that time??? Very sad because Ive wanted to try them for years...

Bagels are awesome and 15 to the dozen! The chicken salad on rye bread is the best! The sandwiches are huge. Closes on weekends at 1pm, so do not be late. Cash or check only.
